Permanent jewellery for mums, daughters, hens and best friends
Share
Some moments deserve more than a photo. A mum and daughter day out, a hens party, a best friend's birthday, or the whole crew back together on the Sunshine Coast for the weekend. Matching permanent jewellery is a sweet way to mark it, and it's a lot more fun when you do it together.
Here's how group bookings work at our Mooloolaba studio, and how to make the most of yours.
Why groups love permanent jewellery
A matching tattoo is a big commitment, and not everyone in the group will be ready for one. Permanent jewellery is the easy yes. It's painless, it's quick, and everyone can take part.
- No age minimum. We welcome clients of all ages, so mums, daughters, nans and nieces can all join in. For younger ones, we recommend adding a clasp for extra safety, and we'll do that at a parent's request.
- Great for mums-to-be. If someone in the group is pregnant and holding off on tattoos, a chain is a lovely way for her to be included.
- No pain. You'll see a tiny spark as the chain is welded shut, but nothing touches your skin.
Matching (or not-quite-matching) ideas
"Matching" doesn't have to mean identical. Some of our favourite group ideas:
- Same chain, different metal. Half the group in 14K gold-filled, half in sterling silver.
- Same chain, different spot. Bracelets for some, anklets for the beach lovers, a necklace for the bride.
- Mum and daughter charms. A matching chain with a different charm each, chosen from our range in studio.
- The bride stands out. Everyone wears the same bracelet, and the bride-to-be gets a charm or a second piece.
- Best friend anklets. Perfect for a group that lives in thongs and spends weekends at Mooloolaba Beach.
You can see the full range of styles on our permanent jewellery page.
How a group session runs
We now run permanent jewellery parties, perfect for hens, birthdays and friendship groups. Here's roughly how it goes:
- You message us. Tell us the date, how many people and what you're celebrating.
- Everyone chooses. On the day, each person picks their chain, metal and any charms, with our team there to help.
- Fit and weld. We measure each piece for a comfortable fit and weld it closed. A single piece usually takes about 15 to 20 minutes, so a bigger group will need longer. Plan for that when you set your time.
- Celebrate. Photos, cheers and a lot of wrist-stacking. Ask us about adding nibbles and prosecco to your party.
Planning a group? Send us a DM with your date and group size and we'll talk you through the options.
Booking tips for groups
- Book ahead. Walk-ins are welcome for single pieces, but for a group you'll want your spot locked in, especially on Saturdays and in the school holidays.
- Get a final headcount first. It helps us plan the timing.
- Think about jobs and sports. If someone can't wear jewellery at work, they can choose a clasp instead and still match the group.
- Plan the rest of the day. Our studio is on Smith Street, a short walk from the Esplanade. Lunch, a swim and a sunset drink are all close by.
- Surprising someone? A gift voucher is a lovely way to pay for the guest of honour's piece.
Caring for your matching pieces
Once you're all sparkly, the care is easy. Rinse your chain with fresh water after the beach or pool, clean it gently with mild soap and warm water, and take a little care with heavy lifting. Our care tips have the details.
