What Age Can Kids Get Their Ears Pierced?

We offer ear piercings for children aged 6mths+ however we do recommend if you can hold off to wait until at least age 5+ as younger kids have delicate ears and need to be able to care for their piercings properly. Their anatomy is also still developing which is where you can sometimes find piercing sites seem like they are wrong when older - but in fact it is due to the ears continuing to grow and therefore naturally move the original piercing sites making them seem wrong. So if your little one isn’t quite ready, no worries—we’ll be here when they are!

What to Expect on the Day

Before You Arrive: Make sure your child has had a good meal and is well-rested. Hydrated, happy kids make for the best piercing experience!

At Your Appointment:Our piercer will chat with you and your child to make sure they feel comfortable. We’ll mark the ears, check placement, and once you both approve, we’ll do the piercings quickly and safely.

Afterwards:Your child will be the proud new owner of some super cute earrings, and you’ll get full aftercare instructions to keep everything healing smoothly.

Aftercare for Kids’ Ear Piercing

Healing properly is just as important as getting the piercing done right! Here’s how to care for your child’s new earrings:

Clean Twice a Day:

Use sterile saline solution (no alcohol or peroxide!) morning and night.

No Twisting or Playing:

Hands off! Twisting earrings can slow healing and introduce bacteria.

Swimming & Sports:

Avoid pools, oceans, and high-contact sports for at least 2 weeks.

Sleeping Smart:

A travel pillow or donut pillow can help avoid pressure on fresh piercings.

Jewellery Stays In:

Keep earrings in for at least 6 weeks (lobe piercings) before changing them. We always recommend rebooking our complimentary check up service to assist with this and to ensure the piercing sites is healed properly before changing over.
